Yukata Matsuri

Last week was Himeji's annual Yukata Festival. This is my favourite festival in Himeji. Others may enjoy lion dancing, smashing giant paper lanterns or crashing giant wooden shrines together until one of them breaks, but I'll take wandering around in my stylish robe and eating (unhealthy) festival food. We went three days this year, at least for a little bit each day. Chelsey went down early the first day and took some pictures in the city garden with some friends. On Friday we watched some performances, and even went up on stage ourselves to participate in the Loco-motion. But mostly it was about walking around, eating junk food and watching people in their yukata.
My food total ended up including a big hamburger, some cucumber on a stick with chili sauce, some chicken on a stick, bacon-wrapped rice balls (onigiri), some ice cream and a crepe. Also, probably some other items that I have forgotten.
