I think it's clear what Canada's strategy for 2014 should be: 1) Try to give up five goals in a loss during the preliminary round, causing the coach to switch goalies 2) Have an undefeated Swedish team get upset by a big underdog in the quarterfinals, allowing Canada to play that underdog rather than Sweden in the semis 3) Play the USA in the finals 4) Win gold! Worked in 2002, worked in 2010, I'm sure it will work in 2014 as well. Perhaps they should petition to have Sochi moved to North America, just in case.
Of course, this is all assuming Gary Bettman decides he's done enough damage to hockey and lets NHL players play in 2014 ...
