Yukata Festival

Last week there was a Yukata Festival in Himeji. A yukata is a summer kimono -- which means it's made of a light-weight, cooler fabric (usually cotton). For the festival, everyone dresses in their yukata and then goes and eats delicious festival food -- and tries to avoid spilling on their lovely yukata.
We went on Tuesday and Thursday, we might have gone on Wednesday, too, but we had our Japanese lesson. We usually stand out in a crowd, but it seemed like the locals were especially surprised to see us dressed in the traditional Japanese style.
